Dear Marjorie,

I've just returned from my annual Memorial Day bicycling and kayaking trip to the Chesapeake Bay area around Cambridge, MD. The church we attended on Sunday had a wonderful memorial service and I am right now looking at the paper poppy I received there. They gave them out whether or not we gave a donation but the genuineness of the pastor's love reminded and inspired us to give. This dear pastor, Fred, in fact, is also a Chaplin for a National Guard unit and asked our prayers for returning Guard members.

We learned that Guard men and women have only an average of 300 hours to adjust back to civilian life and often do not accomplish this well. I can imagine that our allied soldiers around the world had even less time to adjust after past wars. How could these men and women move from one “world” to another without the knowledge and help of our Mighty Savior, Jesus??? We are no different. As Dale reminds us, we need and can have the assistance we need to move from one point in life to another, from this life to the next. It’s in our Great Captain, Jesus, the Lord of Lords, the King of Kings, the Mighty Victor, Author and Completer of our Faith! As we sing, “in Him there is no darkness at all; the night and the day are both alike.” Jesus has overcome the darkness with the Light of His Life. Our God is indeed *so very merciful and loving* beyond our daring to imagine, especially in His patience and forgiveness for us as individuals and for us corporately as a nation. Yes, the nation perishes without a vision. Let's continue to place our lives in His hands and life, and pray that our nation and the nation's of the world humbly bow before Him of their own will. For some day, perhaps soon, all of us _will_ bow before the Conqueror. Best to know Him as the loving conqueror of our souls than to be taken captive.

Thank you, too, dear CMG, for sharing these very personal glimpses of your life, for sharing so simply and powerfully the good news of Jesus, and for teaching the truth to children!

Blessings,
Carolyn

I have certainly enjoyed your blogs CMG, and I do share them in my class room with my class. This poem on America will be a joy to teach.

I look forward to as much as I can get from you to teach the friends and families I am involved with.

You have given me sparks to keep going and using your blogs and CMG poems, to all who meet me.

I am grateful to have a CMG in my life since 1978. Thank you.
