Hello Mrs. Decker, I just listened to you reading Come and Dine. Your voice is a great addition to your blog. You have a wonderful English accent. Certainly enhances the story and adds a nice touch. Timothy.

Oh Wow! I can't help but chime in again! Keith has been up to some good work (I was wanting to hear that special whistle)! How wonderful to hear your voice again, Marjorie! I _do_ believe these audio blogs will some day be features for the Smithsonian! Cheers!

Our dear CMG! I wanted to get back as this is really a very special blog for me. As soon as you asked your opening ?, I thought, the kitchen & dining tables! These are the places the LORD uses to draw us into all the conversations, sensitivities, comforts, and memories you described!
Mel Gibson's portrayal in 'The Passion of Christ' of our Lord fashioning a dining table for some "rich man" was a great touch of realization that the Lord knows how to create opportunities for friend and family communion in all cultures and times - and His delight in doing so! And, ALL types of surprises are apt to occur there! What a hilarious little story about Leslie & isn't it telling that he chose Dale's plate to pilfer?! I think he must have so trusted Dale's love and character that he felt most comfortable in choosing his plate to glom! I can just imagine the charge scene! :D
My own father years ago gave me a print of Eric Enstrom's photo of Charles Wilden, so naturally asking grace at table. Enstrom is quoted as saying "This man doesn't have much of earthly goods, but he has more than most people because he has a thankful heart." And, answers.com says of the “chance“ meeting of the photographer and subject, "One morning back in 1918 an ordinary man was doing his very ordinary job, selling things door-to-door, when he met another ordinary man doing his ordinary job, and the results were extraordinary. " I think these were the types of rich men for whom the Lord inspired someone to build dining tables, whether used to gather families and friends, or to simply commune alone with the Lord at sup … and the type of every day occurrences that he can use in all of us to accomplish His works of love. Let’s be encouraged to carry on, whistling as we go! :)

You must be one extrodanary Christian woman and I know someday we shall meet on those streets of gold and I can thank you in person for sharing your gift of Christian Mother Goose with so many.
I was so surprised when my daughter opened up the box for my three month old grandson and we found that you had autographed the book, even enclosed a free Audio Book of Nursery Rhymes. Thank you so much. And may God bless you as only He can.

Greetings, Marjorie!
Thank you so much for the web site and all that you do! I called and had a wonderful visit with your son. I go back with Christian Mother Goose decades (I am the one with the daughter nicknamed Goosey). My children had readings from Christian Mother Goose just about every evening when they were very young (we ended the day often with "I see the moon and the moon sees me, God bless the moon and God bless me).

I am so glad to find a copy of the book to present to a pastor friend from South Africa whose grandson is one year today! The legacy goes on, and all over the world. Isn't the Lord wonderful? I know you are, too.

Dear Marjorie,

I hope that today will be one of a very special sort for you, filled with fun, love, laughter, rich memories, and the making of new ones deep in your heart's joy! Have a special cup of tea and a torte to spruce it up! Look for something in your email later this evening to say thanks for how special you are! In the meantime, I hope you have a WONDERFUL day! You are precious in the eyes and heart of the LORD, and in ours as well. And ... I can't wait to get back to this week's very very special blog. I'm off to work for now!

Blessings,
Carolyn

Hi Marjorie, what a great idea gmack has for a little blog book!

One of my ancestors, Samuel Stennett (1727–1795), was an English Baptist minister and hymn writer (along with his father and grandfather). He was older but his life overlapped Carey's. It would be very surprising if they did not know of one another because of their theological leanings. I've been fascinated and inspired to read of Samuel and even found one of his hymns persisting in an early 20th C. version of the Anglican hymnal while visiting St Michael le Belfrey, York (one of my favorite cities of the world!)

I can't help but think that Samuel, his father, and grandfather bent their knees to pray for the children of their up coming generations. What a thought that we might also have such an effect in prayer across the world and generations! Whether or not we travel far, the Lord can use each of us tremendously for His gospel through prayer, just as He works through you in your blog every week!
